- Binchotan (Japanese Oak) activated charcoal is the highest grade of charcoal. These charcoals are from the Kishu region of Japan.
- Binchotan charcoal has been used for centuries for its excellent purification properties in reducing water hardness, absorbing odor, and filtering for a pure fresh taste. Filtering time for 2L of water is 3-4 hours.
- Use 1 stick for 2 liters of water; stick is approximately 0.8" in diameter and 5.9" in length.
- Reactivate charcoal every two weeks by boiling for 10 minutes and letting dry.
- Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality.
